Viotto scores 19, leading Knights to victory over Steelhawks

Both Korah and St. Mary's picked up wins as Week 2 wraps up

Action continued in boy’s high school basketball on Thursday night with games at two schools.

In senior action at St. Mary’s, Gianni Viotto had 19 points as the St. Mary’s Knights beat the Superior Heights Steelhawks 69-35. 

Cole Evans chipped in with 17 points and Nate Medaglia had 12 for the Knights.

At Korah, Brennan Mitchell had 17 points as the Korah Colts picked up a narrow 69-62 win over the White Pines Wolverines. Matt Kment added 15 points for Korah.

Lucas Higham of White Pines led all scorers in the game with 20 points.

In junior action on Thursday night, Kyle Dudenzki scored 17 points to lead Superior Heights to a 36-27 win over St. Mary’s. 

Martin Colicchio had 11 points to lead St. Mary’s.

Thursday’s other junior game saw Gaston Mattila score 17 points as the Korah Colts beat the White Pines Wolverines 74-43. Jackson Naccarato chipped in with 15 points for Korah,

Logan Whitmill had 15 points for White Pines while Brent Pearce added 11.

The schedule continues on Dec. 6 when Korah hosts St. Mary’s and Superior Heights hosts White Pines. Tipoff for the junior games is 5:30 p.m. with the senior game to follow at 7:15 p.m.
