Men's Hockey and Borrelli Recognized by NCAA Team Led D-I in Scoring Offense; Borrelli in Points-Per-Game

Indianapolis, Ind. - The NCAA will be sending Mercyhurst and graduating senior forward Dave Borrelli plaques shortly for their respective trophy cases. The Mercyhurst men's team is the 2006 statistical champion for scoring offense while Borrelli will be getting hardware as the statistical champion for points-per-game.

The Lakers nipped second-place Minnesota in scoring offense, 4.17 goals-per-game to 4.12, while Borrelli had a slim, 1.55 to 1.54, edge over Minnesota forward Ryan Potulny in points-per-game. Borrelli was also second nationally in goals-per-game, third in shorthanded goals, and fourth in power play goals.

The Lakers ended the season with an overall record of 22-13-1.
