************************* Fans don't think Mark McGwire will be inducted into the Hall of Fame Ninety-one per cent of Sportsbook.com bettors say "no"

NEW YORK, NY, Jan. 8 - Sportsbook.com, the world's largest online sportsbook and casino, has posted odds on whether the controversial Mark McGwire will be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

During late 90's the St. Louis Cardinals' slugger sold out stadiums wherever the team played and brought excitement to fans everywhere, leaving little doubt he would have his place in Cooperstown.

But that was before McGwire was asked to testify about player steroid use before a Congressional committee.

Rather than answer the questions, he said he was not there to talk about the past. Odds on whether Mark McGwire would be inducted into the Hall of Fame on first ballot opened at +400, Yes, and -700, # Bettors backed the favored "No" heavily, at 91 per cent.

Fans clearly believe that the famed hitter's reputation has been tainted by his alleged drug use.

There is a clause on the ballot which indicates character should be considered when voting for a player, and Big Mac's refusal to speak about his past at the congressional hearings in March of 2005 may cost him the Hall of Fame.
