AOE/SERVICEMASTER WILDCATS BANTAM BB GIRLS HOCKEY

BANTAM BB WILDCATS WIN SILVER AT THE COLD WATER 2006 SILVER STICKS TOURNAMENT

The AOE/Servicemaster Wildcats Bantam BB girls hockey team travelled to Trenton February 10-12, 2006 to play in the Cold Creek 2006 Silver Sticks Hockey Tournament and won silver.

The Wildcats won their first game against the Grand Rapids Michigan Griffins 4-3 with goals being scored by Brianne Veale, Katie Komsa, Alyssa Mason and Jasmine Roy. Assists went to Stephanie Luciani and Shannon MacInnis.

In a game riddled with penalties the Wilcats managed to shutout Detroit 3-0. Samantha Filek scored first for the Wildcats with assists going to Alyssa Mason and Katie Komsa. Alyssa Mason scored their second goal with Stephanie Luciani assisting. Their final goal was scored by Jasmine Roy assisted by Shannon MacInnis and Katie Pietrzakowski. Kelsey Bentrovato registered the shut out.

The Wildcats won their third game against Cold Creek 7-2 with seven different Wilcats scoring. Goals went to Katie Komsa, Stephanie Luciani, Jasmine Roy, Morgan Tersigni, Jessica D'Angelo, Brianne Veale and Mallory Lessage. Assists went to Samantha Filek, Alyssa Mason, Mallory Lessage, Brianne Veale and Jessica D'Angelo.

In their fourth game the Widcats beat Ottawa Valley 4-0 to finish with a 4-0 record in the round robin and earned a spot in the finals. Goals went to Katie Pietrzakowski, Mallory Lessage, Jessica D'Angelo and Alyssa Mason. Assists went to Jasmine Roy, Samantha Filek, Katie Komsa and Brianne Veale. Kelsey Bentrovato had her second shut out of the tournament.

In the gold medal game the Wilcats were tied with Ottawa 2-2 at the end of the third period. Goals were scored by Morgan Tersigni with the assist going to Brianne Beale. Their second goal was scored by Mallory Lessage with assists going to Katie Komsa and Brianne Veale. With no goals being scored in the 12 minute overtime period they went to a shoot out and lost.

They ended the weekend with a silver medal.
