AOE / SERVICEMASTER WILDATS BANTAM BB GIRLS WIN BRONZE AT THE OWHA 2006 PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

The AOE / Servicemaster Wildcats Bantam BB Girls hockey team were in Toronto this weekend for the OWHA 2006 Provincial Championships. There were 14 teams in the Bantam BB Division and a total of 380 teams and 8,000 participants at the Provincials.

The Wildcats won their first game against the Peterborough Ice Kats 4-0 with Kelsey Bentrovato getting the shut out for the Wildcats.

Jessica D'Angelo opened the scoring with assists going to Jasmine Roy and Samantha Filek.

Brianne Veale scored the other 3 goals for the Wildcats with Katie Komsa assisting on two of them and Alyssa Mason assisting on one.

In their second game the Wildcats spanked the Markham-Stouffville Stars 10-2.

Katie Komsa scored 3 goals with Brianne Veale and Jasmine Roy scoring 2 goals each. Singles went to Samantha Filek, Jessica D'Angelo and Mallory Lesage.

Sarah McCulloch, Katie Komsa and Brianne Veale each had two assists with single assists going to Morgan Tersigni, Katie Pietrzakowski, Jessica D'Angelo and Jasmine Roy.

In their third game, the quarterfinals the Soo Wildcats beat Nepean Wildcats 1-0 with Jessica D'Angelo scoring the lone goal for the Soo at the 5:54 mark of the third period. Shannon MacInnis assisted with Emily Potvin getting the shut out for the Wildcats.

In the semi final game the Wildcats lost a close hard fought game to the Petrolia Oilers 1-0.

The Wildcats then played in the Bronze Medal game Sunday afternoon against Guelph Thunder and won 2-0. Katie Pietrzakowski scored their first goal with Jasmine Roy and Shannon MacInnis assisting. Brianne Veale scored the second goal which was unassisted.

The AOE / Servicemaster Wildcats Bantam BB Girls are the Bronze Medal Provincial Champions.
