All persons involed in Archery are invited to the 8th annual Algoma Triple Crown 3D championships being held August 5&6&7.

All persons involed in Archery are invited to the 8th annual Algoma Triple Crown 3D championships being held August 5&6&7.

The first leg of the triple crown is being held at the Soo North Archery Association and the second leg at Nottingham North and the third leg at the Algoma Rod and Gun Club.

The full family event will feature prizes, side events and draws. Fees for the 3-d triple crown are $15 per day or 3-day triple crown at $39.

There is also a cash Class of $30 plus $39 for a total of $69 if you wish to shoot in that catergory. All shooters, including single day guests, are eligible for awards at each shoot.

Shooters must enter all three shoots to be eligible for triple crown Awards and cash class money at the Tripple Crown Aggregate Ceremony at the end of the triple crown.

The Soo North Archey Association is located near Hiawatha on top of the big hill.

They have over 60 members both male and female and are currently looking for new members to join. Club archery members are all ages with some archers being in there 70's and down to the early teens.

Some of the teen shooters are going away in August to the Ontario Summer Games being held in Ottawa.

There is a wide variety of different bows used by the members including traditional archers and compound bow shooters.

The club also features local archer Grant Summerfield, who has won numerous touraments in Ontario this year. Summerfield offers lessons for the beginner to learn how to use and shoot safely and get the full enjoyment out of your bow.

Lessons are free of charge if you join the Soo North Archery Association.

Summerfield also owns and runs Whitetail Archery, a family run bussiness. He sells and services all makes of bows for the beginner or the pro.

Memberships for junior, single and family are available.
