Sault Ste. Marie’s Mac Marcoux has another gold medal to add to his collection.
The 17-year-old is competing in the 2015 IPC Skiing World Championships in Panorama, BC and won a gold medal in competition on Wednesday afternoon.
Marcoux, guided by brother B.J., took top spot in the men’s downhill visually impaired by a two-second margin to win his first career world title.
“It was a good run,” Mac said in a release. “There’s such a good surface on the hill. I’m pretty stoked.”
The duo skied to a time of 1:29.68.
USA’s Mark Bathum and guide Cade Yamamoto (1:31.89) won silver while Slovakia’s Miroslav Haraus and guide Maros Hudik (1:32.12) took bronze.
