************************* The Sault Ste. Marie Hockey Hall of Fame Committee is pleased to annouince the 2006 Sault Ste. Marie Hockey Hall of Fame inductee:
Craig Hartsburg (player/coach)
There will be a special induction ceremony on Saturday March 3, 2007 at the Soo Greyhound game.
History on Craig Hartsburg
• Currently in his fourth season as head coach of the Soo Greyhounds.
• Won a gold medal as Head Coach of Team Canada at the 2007 World Junior Hockey Championships.
• On a gold medal as assistant coach of Team Canada at the 2006 World Junior Hockey Championships.
• Two-time winner of Matt Leyden Trophy as the Ontario Hockey League Coach of the Year (2001/02 with Soo Greyhounds/ 1994-95 with Guelph Storm).
• CHL Coach of the Year (1994/95 with Guelph Storm).
• Coached in the National Hockey League: three years with Chicago Blackhawks (head coach), two and a half seasons with Anaheim Mighty Ducks (head coach), and two years with Philadelphia Flyers (assistant coach).
• Played in the National Hockey League for 10 seasons with Minnesota North Stars (98 goals and 315 assists while being named to the North Stars "25-year Dream" team).
• Played in the 1987 Canada Cup.
• Played junior hockey for Soo Greyhounds (captain of the 1976/77 team).
• Born in Stratford, Ontario, but moved to the Soo when drafted by the Greyhounds. Married his wife Peggy, who is from Sault Ste. Marie.
