KINROSS SPEEDPARK

********************************

Kinross Speedpark recently held its first "Test and Tune" for racers preparing for the May 19th season opener. Drivers were able to take some practice laps and make adjustments on their equipment for the upcoming race season.

The 1/4 mile asphalt race track, located on the Chippewa County Fairgrounds, has seen many changes since last season, including a new name, Kinross Speedpark. A non-profit association has been formed, called the Sault Area Racing Association, to promote the speedpark. The Board of Directors consists of many familiar names including Norm Miller-President, Bill Cryderman-Vice President, Jen Ware-Secretary, Robin Laitinen-Treasurer, and Dennis Aho-Member at Large.

Kinross Speedpark will provide family entertainment for stock car racing fans every Friday night. The race track attracts drivers from both Michigan and Ontario. Qualifying begins at 6:00 p.m. each Friday with exciting racing action starting at 7:30 p.m. The Kinross Speedpark includes a covered grandstand, concession stand, and souvenir booth.

More information on the Sault Area Racing Association and its upcoming season can be found at www.kinrossspeedpark.com.
