************************** Brown welcomes funding for Searchmont Ski Association programming

Funds to promote recreational, competitive athlete development

ALGOMA-MANITOULIN - (July 23) - Mike Brown, MPP for Algoma-Manitoulin, is applauding the news that the Searchmont Ski Association Inc. will receive $28,434 in Communities In Action funding to hire a project coordinator to promote and implement an expanded athlete development stream that incorporates recreational and competitive options.

“This funding will make it easier for the users of the Searchmont Ski Hill to become more active,” said Brown.

“Encouraging physical activity will only help to improve the health and fitness of the community,” he said.

The funding will be used to help the ski hill appeal to a larger market, and will be targeted toward beginners and seniors.
