************************** The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service along with the Soo Greyhounds and Joey Calzone’s are pleased to introduce the 2006-2007 Soo Greyhounds’ hockey trading cards.

The fronts of these trading cards have pictures of the Greyhounds and coaching staff, as well as a picture of Joey Iachetta, owner of Joey Calzone's Italian Eatery and Bar.

Additionally, there are three cards from Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and they are of Chief Robert Davies, the late Constable Donald Doucet, and several officers from the police service who were once Greyhound players.

There are a total of 32 cards in the entire set.

The cards all have an important safety message for the youth of our community and all three partners in this joint venture want them to be safe by learning safety tips while having fun trading hockey cards and learning about our Soo Greyhounds.

Children can collect the cards the following ways:

Cards are available by attending at Joey Calzones Italian Eatery and Bar in the Station Mall and asking your server about the trading cards.

Officers from the Community Services Bureau of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service will be handing out these cards in the elementary schools as part of their ongoing commitment to educating youth in our community.

A limited number of cards will also be available to patrol officers to hand out.

Children who see these officers may approach them as ask them for a card, however, children and parents alike should not approach any officers while they are conducting an investigation or responding to calls.

Only approach police vehicles when they are parked or are on a street that is not busy with traffic.

Remember these are safety cards and safety rules need to be followed.
