************************ Two males arrested for breaking into residences on Sunnyside Beach Road

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated two residence break and enters on Sunnyside Beach Road early yesterday morning.

It is alleged that two males, ages 18 and 15 years, broke into two residences in that area and stole a numerous items from both, including a riding lawnmower from a shed, which both males fled on.

The 18 year-old male driver was operating the lawnmower, while the 15-year-old was riding on the hood.

The youth fell off on Sunnyside Road, resulting in the lawnmower being driven over him.

At approximately 7:53 a.m. officers located the 18-year-old male operating the Mastercraft 12 horsepower lawnmower northbound on Walls Road and when they stopped him they found him to be under the influence of alcohol and in possession of the stolen property.

The youth received non-life-threatening injuries as a result that required medical attention.

As a result, the 18-year-old male, Brooks Warmington, of no fixed address, was charged with two counts of break and enter, one count of possession of stolen property, one count of impaired driving causing bodily harm and one count of criminal negligence causing bodily harm.

The youth was charged with two counts of break and enter, one count of possession of stolen property and one count of breach of probation.

************************ Two shoplifting arrests

Twenty-seven-year-old Marina Harper of 249 Glasgow Avenue was arrested on the 13th of July at 2:55 p.m. at Zellers on Northern Avenue and charged with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that on the 13th of July she attended at the store and stole some items. She was apprehended by store security and held for police. She is to attend in court on the 16th of August.

Forty-year-old Shelley Murphy of 160 Amber Street was arrested on the 13th of July at 1:08 p.m. at Canadian Tire and charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused left the store with a shopping cart full of stolen items. She was apprehended by store security and held for police. At the time she was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be good. She is to appear in court on the 16th of August.
