Youth accused of bear-spray assault

************************* Youth arrested for assault with a weapon

Last night at approximately 10:30 p.m., members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 16-year-old male for assault with a weapon.

It is alleged that at about 8 p.m., the accused sprayed another youth, known to him, in the face with bear spray.

The victim was taken to the Sault Area Hospital, treated and released.

The accused is charged with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of possession of a dangerous weapon.

He is to appear in court on January 25 at 9:30 a.m.
