Young child hurt in crash at Albert and Gore

*********************** Just before 9 a.m. yesterday morning officers attended at Gore Street and Albert Street West for a motor vehicle collision with injuries.

A van operated by 34-year-old Dawn Comba of First Avenue was travelling northbound on Gore Street on the green light.

It is alleged that a car operated by 84-year-old Joseph Mancuso of Third Line West was travelling eastbound on Albert Street West and went through the red light striking the Comba vehicle.

A young child who was in the Comba vehicle was taken by ambulance to the Sault Area Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Mr. Mancuso has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario with one count of red light-fail to stop.
