************************* Yesterday evening at approximately 6:20 p.m., City Police were called to the Sears Store in the Station Mall regarding a male shoplifter.

Upon arrival, officers arrested and charged Andrew Swan, age 44 of 222 Albert Street East Apartment 209.

It is alleged that the accused stole a bottle of cologne valued at $72 from Sears.

It is further alleged that the accused later assaulted the security officer by spitting on him.

At the time of these offences the accused was on a probation order release with conditions to keep the peace and be good.

The accused is charged with one count of theft under $5,000, one count of assault and one count of breach of probation.

He will be appearing in court on December 21 at 9 a.m.
