************************* Police training exercise - Thursday, April 30, 2009 (8 a.m. - 2 p.m.)

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is conducting a major training exercise tomorrow, Thursday, April 30, 2009, in a number of locations throughout the city.

The training exercise will involve members of the Emergency Services Unit, Containment Team, Explosive Disposal Unit, Canine Unit, Patrol Services, as well as commanders and negotiators from the Police Service.

The exercise will take place between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The area of the exercise will be well signed with signage indicating “police training exercise” and neighbours in the immediate area of the exercise have received a flyer indicating that the exercise will take place in that area.

************************* Do Your Own Time anti-drug/crime-related video & presentation

On Thursday, April 30, 2009, at 7:30 p.m., Ross Mervyn will be presenting his Do Your Own Time anti-drug/crime video and presentation at the YMCA in the auditorium.

Admission is free and the presentation targets those students in Grade 6 and up.

Parents are encouraged to bring their children and grandchildren to this very interesting and informative presentation about the use of drugs and spending time in jail.

Ross has traveled all across Canada making this presentation.
