SAULT STE. MARIE - (October 6) - The Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie wants Saultites to start thinking about the holiday season as applications are now available for entry into the Rotary Santa Claus Parade scheduled for Saturday, November 21 at 6 p.m.

The Downtown Kiwanis Club of Sault Ste. Marie will again judge the parade.

Awards include the “Norm Candelori Best in Parade trophy," “Best Corporate Entry,” “Best Community Group Entry,” the “High School Spirit Award,” and the Elementary School Spirit Award.

The Norm Candelori Best In Parade trophy and plaque is named for a proud supporter of the event who was instrumental in the operations of the parade when a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce Soo Jaycees, initiators of the parade in 1952.

Candelori has also been a member of the Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie since 1960, a past president of the club, Rotarian of the Year, and a past district governor.

The route will operate as in the past with the start at Simpson Street on Queen, finishing at Gore Street.

Entry is free, but all entrants must comply with insurance requirements.
