NEWS RELEASE

WITCH OF THE FALL

************************* Sault man releases feature film! Sault native Kevin Herrington has released his first feature film this past week in Southern Ontario, and the reviews as evidenced by articles on the films website have been very good! The film is a horror/thriller titled Witch of the Fall.

It was written by Herrington and Jay Oram from Barrie.

It is about a reporter who comes to a small town to investigate the disappearance of teenagers, and winds up in the middle of local legend that just won’t die!

It is not for the weak at heart.

“The press who attended the theatrical screening really loved the film! We placed their articles on our website to show some of the unique stories about the film that are emerging," says Publicist Debra Smith. “It is the kind of movie all my friends in the Sault would have loved when I grew up there,” says Herrington, “It’s got small town humour, some thrills, a bit of gore, of course an old hockey rink, and, we believe, a great story line with many twists and turns. We recently brought in a colour correction expert in late January (2010) to put the finishing touches on the film and he was able to completely change the look! He turned it into a much ‘darker’ film, including rain and thunder scenes; it is now what it was originally intended to be.” Shot on location in South Simcoe and Orangeville, Witch of the Fall, had its world premiere February 12, 2010, at the Gibson Centre Theatre in Alliston, Ontario, 45 minutes north of Toronto and it sold out!

Additional release dates will happen throughout the year and culminate around Halloween this year! The film has a distribution deal in the United States with www.Bigstar.tv, a pay-per-view downloadable service, and several Canadian distributors are now looking at the recent version for Canadian distribution.

Some of the locations include the Gibson Centre itself [and] the Museum on the Boyne.

The film stars the fabulous Greg Thompson from Los Angeles.

Mr. Thompson has also starred in Three - The Dale Earnhardt Story and The Lost & Found Family (2009).

Several local area actors play pivotal rolls in the film, including locals Matt Collins and Kyle Berdan.

Gary Beckwith and Carl Dunn from the old Alliston Arena usher-in standout performances, and a shockingly cold performance [is given by] local Clayton Deathe!

Dan Rivers and staff at the Millpond Café make cameos.

Several local firemen coordinated [by] local fireman Hank Williams play excellent roles.

Wayne Biegel and Lorrie Bakker and staff from the Mono Cliffs Inn also feature in the film.

The director of photography is Peter Corlett, who resides near Mansfield.

Other Canadians that figure in prominent roles are Nicole Shorrock from B.C., Andrew James and Samantha Nemeth from Mississauga, the beautiful Cheryl Meyer from Toronto, and Ron Guttman and Robert Kirk, also from Toronto.

For almost all of the Canadian cast, it is their first front title credit, a coveted Hollywood goal for aspiring actors.

Witch of the Fall is based on the Legend of the Witch of the Fall.
