Workweek Outlook: We miss the storm but get the wind

Temperatures will bounce around the freezing mark in the days ahead, while persistent northerly winds make it feel much cooler

Yet another extensive storm system will bring heavy rain and snow to Southern Ontario early this week while we enjoy the sunshine in Northern Ontario. However, this storm will see so big and hang around so long that the north wind on its backside will linger over the Sault region all week. Temperatures will bounce around the freezing mark in the days ahead, while persistent northerly winds make it feel much cooler.

Colder and windier conditions move into the region on Monday under mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will be below the freezing mark all day with windchill values near -10°C thanks to a cold north wind.

Tuesday will be partly cloudy with even stronger winds. Temperatures sneak back up to +1°C, but the northerly wind will make it feel several degrees cooler. Wednesday should be sunny with daytime highs near 4°C, but that pesky northerly wind keeps hanging on.

Additional cloud cover moves in on Thursday, and you guessed it, brisk north winds continue to blow over the region. Temperatures will climb a degree or two above freezing, and there is a risk of a few isolated flurries.

Friday looks to be cloudy, and the northerly winds may weaken a little bit. Daytime highs continue to linger around the freezing mark.
