By mid-week temperatures climb back to near 30°C, and this should continue right into this coming weekend

Temperatures in Sault Ste. Marie during early July typically climb to near 24°C, but so far this month the region has only seen one day under 26°C.  Half of the days in the last week have exceeded 30°C! So I think it's fair to call this a heat wave.

The warm weather will continue this week with the coldest days arriving early in the week.  By mid-week temperatures climb back to near 30°C, and this should continue right into this coming weekend.

This risk of rain and thunderstorms moves in Monday morning around 10 a.m. with the best chance near noon.  Showers move out of the region by early afternoon.  This activity is likely to be scattered, and many locations will remain dry or only see a trace of precipitation.  Temperatures will be near 25°C with gusty west winds arriving in the afternoon. Skies should clear this evening.

The sun returns on Tuesday along with gusty northwest winds 15-25km/h.  Daytime highs will remain in the mid-20s with overnight lows in the low teens.

A mix of sun and cloud for Wednesday and Thursday with temperatures near 30°C.  A chance of storms arrives Thursday night.

Friday will see sunshine return with temperatures in the high 20s.  The weekend looks warm with daytime highs back into the low 30s.
