The good news for the week ahead is that we only expect rainfall on one of the five week days and it will be followed by a warm sunny weekend

This summer and spring resulted in extreme rainfall events across Ontario and yesterday we found out the Sault region is not immune.

In just over 12 hours the city recorded 47.8mm of rain breaking the old single-day record for July of 43.9mm set in 1949! This now puts the Sault on track to receive double the normal rainfall it would normally see in the month of July.

The good news for the week ahead is that we only expect rainfall on one of the five week days and it will be followed by a warm sunny weekend.

Summer-like weather returns today with lots of sunshine and seasonal temperatures back into the mid-20s.

Tomorrow will see south winds combine with clear skies to push daytime highs into the upper 20s.

Wednesday will bring unsettled weather with rain and possibly some severe thunderstorms.

We then head into a longer stretch of drier weather starting on Thursday that will into the weekend with warmer than normal temperatures in the upper 20s.
