Workweek Outlook: Don't count on days of rain

I know the public Environment Canada forecast today shows lots of rain for the end of the week – but I'm not so sure. The best chance for any rain across the Sault region does begin on Wednesday, but cloud cover and rain each day heading into the long weekend is a little unlikely. Instead, we are more likely to see days where a few heavy showers, maybe even thunder, arrive between sunny breaks. So we may see enough rain to help the garden a bit – but there should be enough sun and heat in there to still enjoy the week ahead.

Monday will be mostly sunny, with daytime highs hitting 23°C later this afternoon. A few clouds may cross the region this afternoon with a weak south wind. The beautiful weather continues into Tuesday as daytime highs reach 25°C under sunny skies – this will likely be the warmest day of this coming week.

Mostly cloudy skies and scattered showers move in for Wednesday and continue on and off throughout the day with temperatures near 18°C. A slight risk of a shower is in place for Thursday, but I think there will be more sun than clouds to allow daytime highs to climb well into the low 20s.

Another more substantial chance of rain and maybe thunder arrives Friday, but any afternoon sun will quickly push temperatures into the low 20s again. I think you will see the public forecast trend towards drier weather this coming long weekend, but temperatures may fall slightly.
