Workweek Outlook: A colder than normal May turns the corner

Overall weather pattern across the province is changing this week which should allow us to tap into warmer air

With May nearly two-thirds of the way over, it comes as no surprise that temperatures are below normal this month. The average daytime high for May is usually just over +16C, while the morning lows are typically near +4C.

So far this month our average daytime high is only +13.7C and +1.6C for morning lows. The good news is that the overall weather pattern across the province is changing this week which should allow us to tap into warmer air and get back on track to normal, if not above normal, temperatures to end the month.

Patchy morning fog will give way to a mix of sun and cloud on Monday as temperatures climb into the upper teens; which brings us back to near normal for late May.

A few more clouds move in for Tuesday with the risk of a shower later in the day. Temperatures should still again climb into the upper teens.

Thursday will be cloudy with showers early in the day.  Warmer air does move into the region to push daytime highs towards +20C.

A mix of sun and cloud returns on Friday with daytime highs climbing into the low 20's.  The warmer weather should continue into the weekend but with a risk of showers.
