************************* On Friday July 10 at approximately 4 p.m., City Police were called to a residence on Churchill Avenue regarding an assault.

Upon arrival, officers spoke to a female complainant and as a result arrested a second female.

It is alleged that the accused, Irene Sardo, age 39, of 138 Churchill Avenue, assaulted the victim by first slapping the victim in the face and then striking her with a coffee mug [not exactly as illustrated] in the hand, which resulted in injuries to the victim’s wrist and hand.

The victim attended at the Sault Area Hospital for treatment.

Irene Sardo is charged with one count of assault and one count of assault with a weapon.

She will be appearing in court on August 10 at 9 a.m.
