************************* Molotov cocktails net several charges for local female
ELLIOT LAKE, ON - The East Algoma OPP has arrested and charged a local female with several charges after receiving a police assistance call.
December 5, 2010, police were called to a residence on Gauthier Place in Elliot Lake to assist the Elliot Lake Fire Department.
Police arrived on scene at approximately 8:12 p.m. and learned that a female was allegedly throwing Molotov cocktails out a second-storey window.
One firefighter advised police that a Molotov cocktail had narrowly missed him.
Several burn marks in the area were observed.
Officers attended the driveway of the residence and verbally engaged a conversation with the subject.
A short time later the officers entered the residence and arrested the subject.
Charged with the following is Sarah Cywink (23) of Elliot Lake:
- Assault with a weapon
- Explosives: intent to cause explosion
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Explosives: making or possessing for unlawful purpose
Cywink is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on February 1, 2011.
