Wild T really, really likes Mike (9 photos)

Mike Stortini may have bitten off more than he can chew. The organizer of last year's Bell Border Jam Music Festival seems to have attracted a certain fondness from one of the performers at the summer event.

The organizer of last year's Bell Border Jam Music Festival seems to have attracted a certain fondness from one of the performers at the summer event.

Tony Springer, better known as Wild T, was in the Sault yesterday to take over the weekly blues night at Algoma's Water Tower Inn.

Wild T and the Spirit's Saturday afternoon performance at the Bell Border Jam outshone the blazing summer sun and left a lasting impression on those lucky enough to have witnessed it.

During a meet-and-greet at the Rad Zone yesterday, not everyone who came out received the same affectionate greeting as Stortini (shown with Wild T).

But that doesn't mean Wild T didn't appreciate the attention.

He joked with, signed autographs for, and swapped band stories with fans who wanted an up-close and personal look at the Canadian blues guitar virtuoso.

"I'd love to put the guitar down and just step back to play the bass," Wild T revealed to one young lady who told him she was a bass player. "I love to hang low and just lay down a groovy foundation."

Sorry Wild T.

The Sault wants none of that.

Last night's show sold out out for a reason.

We want you set that guitar of yours aflame like we know you can do so well.

We also know you didn't call your latest release and accompanying tour Fender Bender for nothing.
