Why lower East Street will be closed tonight

The PUC would like to advise the public of a planned traffic restriction this evening at the intersection of Bay Street and East Street. The traffic restriction will begin at 7 p.m. and is necessary to facilitate repairs on the watermain.

During this process, access to East Street will be closed to through traffic from Queen Street East to Bay Street. There will be a lane reduction on Bay Street, from Brock Street to East Street. This traffic restriction is necessary to ensure the safety of PUC crews as well as the travelling public.
