Voting now open for the 2014 “Best of the Lake” awards

Lake Superior Magazine’s annual Best of the Lake voting is under way – with several new awards up for grabs.

Each year, readers of the 35-year-old, award-winning Lake Superior Magazinechoose their favorite sights, restaurants, lodgings and recreation near Lake Superior for the Best of the Lake list.

Among the new award categories in 2014 are Best Annual Event, Best Shopping Experience and Best Local Fish Dish or Sandwich.

We encourage area residents to stuff the ballot box and support their favorites.

Best of the Lake votes will be accepted through June 1.

In all 12 categories, a winner will be chosen for Michigan, Minnesota, Ontario and Wisconsin – voters can pick the best on each shore.

Best Restaurant or Lodging Staff
Best Overnight Stay or Lodging
Best Shopping Experience
Best Art Gallery/Museum
Best Toe-dipping Beach
Best Family Attraction

Best Boat Ride
Best Annual Event

The April/May issue of the magazine, available on newsstands now, includes a pull-out ballot. Anyone can go online and vote at www.LakeSuperior.com, too.

Winners will be announced in the August/September issue of Lake Superior Magazine.

Each winner will receive an award certificate and a special badge for its website.

The list of winners appears in our annual Lake Superior Travel Guide, too.
