AWERES TWP - RIDE spot checks conducted in Aweres Township yesterday evening resulted in one person being served a 12-hour driving suspension, one person being served a driver’s license suspension notice and one person charged for a Highway Traffic Act infraction.

OPP would like to remind the motoring public that with summer now here and more people traveling the highways that it is against the law to operate any vehicle; ATV, boat or car while impaired by alcohol or other drugs.

If charged with impaired driving on your ATV while on the road, you immediately lose your driver’s license for 90 days and can’t drive your car.

On your boat, you immediately lose your driver’s license for 90 days and can’t drive your car.

Drinking and driving is drinking - on the road, on the water or on the trail.
