Cast your vote for the Celebrate 100! time capsule

SAULT STE. MARIE - The Celebrate 100! Management Team has created a time capsule to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the incorporation of the City of Sault Ste. Marie in 2012.

The time capsule will be archived at the Sault Ste. Marie Museum for future generations.

The City invites the community to decide when the Celebrate 100! Time Capsule should be opened - in 50, 75 or 100 years?

Visit the City website at www.cityssm.on.ca - Celebrate 100! Time Capsule Survey to place your vote.

The results will be announced on December 17, 2012.

On December 30, the City will say “Farewell to Celebrate100!” at a closing event taking place from 1 - 4 p.m. at the Essar Centre.

The community is invited to join Mayor Debbie Amaroso and members of City Council as we celebrate one last time.

Enjoy free family activities including the Steelworkers Inflatable Fun Carnival, face painting, and balloon magic for kids.

Listen to music played throughout the decades.

Hot chocolate, cookies and popcorn - provided free for everyone!

Residents are encouraged to sign the archival record book which will be on display at the Essar Centre and then deposited in the Celebrate100! Time Capsule.

The closing ceremony begins at 3 p.m. with remarks from Mayor Amaroso.

“Our City and its citizens have a great deal to celebrate from our past 100 years and we look forward to our future,” says Mayor Debbie Amaroso. “Thank you Sault Ste. Marie for making Celebrate100! a great success!”
