The City of Sault Ste. Marie is adjusting its hours of operation for services provided during the holiday season.

Administrative Offices: Closed Dec. 26, 27 and Jan. 2. Includes the Cemetery office; Civic Centre; Essar Centre office; Sault Transit; and Public Works and Engineering Services. For 24 hour emergency service requests, call Public Works at 705.759.5201.

Arenas: City-operated arenas (John Rhodes and McMeeken) and the Northern Community Centre will close Dec. 24 at 4 p.m. All facilities are closed Dec. 25 and 26 with the exception of John Rhodes arena 2 which is open Dec. 26 from 1-3 p.m. for public skating. All arenas are open Dec. 27 for scheduled events including public skating at the McMeeken arena from noon to 2 p.m. The Northern Community Centre is open Dec. 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for walking.

All arenas and the Northern Community Centre are open Dec. 31 for scheduled events only. All facilities are closed Jan. 1 with the exception of John Rhodes arena 2 which is open 1-3 p.m. for public skating.

Ermatinger•Clergue National Historic Site: Closed Dec. 24 to 27. Open Dec. 28-30 with special entrance fees. Closed Dec. 31 to Jan. 2.

Essar Centre: Closed Dec. 25 and 26. Open Dec. 27 for scheduled events. Facility closes at 4 p.m. Dec. 31. Closed on New Year’s Day, Jan. 1.

Jessie Irving Children’s Centre: Closed Dec. 26 to 30 and Jan. 2.

John Rhodes Community Centre Pool: Closed Dec. 25. Open Dec. 26 and 31 and Jan. 1 and 2 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for Lane Swim/Parent/Child Swim and 1 to 3 p.m. for Public Swim. For a holiday schedule, visit johnrhodespool.ca or call 705.759.5419.

Public Library: The Centennial Library and Churchill and Korah branches will be closed December 25 to 27. The Centennial Library and Korah branch will close at 4:30 p.m. December 31. All libraries will be closed January 1.

Refuse and Recycling Collection: No collection Monday, Dec. 26 and Monday, Jan. 2. Collection will be one day late for both weeks. The Landfill site and the Household Hazardous Waste Depot will be closed Dec. 24. The site will be open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31. Christmas trees and packaging Styrofoam can be dropped off at the Clean North collection depot at the Cambrian Mall parking lot Dec. 27 to Jan. 14 with trip chipping scheduled for Jan. 15.

Seniors’ Centres (Drop-In & Steelton): Closed Dec. 26 to January 2 inclusive.

Sault Ste. Marie Transit: Regular transit – last buses depart the terminal Dec. 24 at 5:15 p.m. Regular transit will not operate Dec. 25 and 26. Last buses depart the terminal Dec. 31 at 11:15 p.m. No regular transit New Year’s Day – Jan. 1.

Parabus service – last pick up or return Dec. 24 will be at 5:30 p.m. Parabus will run Dec. 25 and 26. The last pick up or return Dec. 31 will be at 11:30 p.m. No Parabus service New Year’s Day – Jan. 1.
