************************** Moose collision lands two in hospital

MAMAINSE HARBOUR, ON - Two Western Canada men were sent to Sault Area Hospital Friday morning after their car collided with two moose.

At about 5:30 a.m. on Friday morning a vehicle was traveling southbound on Highway 17 about two kilometres north of Maimanse Harbour, 125 kilometres north of Sault Ste. Marie.

A cow and calf moose crossed the highway in front of the car and the vehicle struck both animals.

The two occupants of the vehicle were transported to Sault Area Hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries.

The calf was killed in the crash and the cow was last seen disappearing into the bush.

Both men are from the Calgary, Alberta area.

The car [shown] was destroyed and had to be towed.
