********************* Fall 2005 marks the publication of a new book from Margaret Atwood, the witty and provocative The Penelopiad: The Myth of Penelope and Odysseus (Knopf Canada), and the granting of the Chicago Tribune Literary Prize, yet another in a long list of awards recognizing the extraordinary literary achievement of Atwood - a list that includes the Governor General's Award, the Giller Prize, the Man Booker Prize, and the Premio Mondello.

Fall is also the occasion of Margaret Atwood's birthday. To share in the celebration, readers around the world, including those in Sudbury, are invited to plan and host a dinner on Friday, November 18, using her work as the theme.

Join friends to compose toasts, design an Atwoodian menu, share favourite passages, and consider raising funds for an appropriate charity.

Plans for the O.W. Toad dinner in Sudbury include buffalo, bourbon, and, of course, an edible woman for dessert.

Revellers are encouraged to submit photos, menus, and stories from their events.

The dinners will celebrate the contributions of one of Canada's foremost writers with appropriate bills of fare, libations, and wit.
