************************* Two males in custody after cottage broken into
THESSALON, ON - On September 27, 2010, at 6:34 p.m. officers from the East Algoma OPP detachment responded to a break and enter call at cottage on Pollard Driver in Johnson Twp near Desbarats.
Neighbours from across the lake attended the camp after hearing noises.
As they exited their vehicles the suspects could be heard fleeing the scene into the bush.
A check of the camp revealed that it had been broken into.
When officers arrived they discovered in fact that two cottages had been broken into and the contents damaged.
The OPP’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) and canine unit were summoned and a search of the area was conducted.
At 9:30 p.m. police located two youths in wet clothing hitchhiking along Highway 17 in Johnson Twp.
The youths were arrested after admitting to being involved in the break and enter.
After further investigation police learned that there were four youths involved and two are still at large.
Police are aware of the identity of the two youths and warrants are being sought for their arrest.
As a result police have charged two 17-year-old males each with four counts of break, enter and theft.
The two young persons who cannot be identified are being held for bail.
Police are continuing their investigation.
