****************************** Motor vehicle collision with injuries at intersection of Wellington Street East and Pine Street

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded to a motor vehicle collision at 7:19 a.m. this morning at the intersection of Wellington Street East and Pine Street that involved one of the drivers being transported to hospital by EMS for the treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

It is alleged that the driver of a Chevrolet pickup that was proceeding westbound on Wellington Street East failed to stop for the red light at the intersection resulting in a collision with a Lincoln vehicle that had been traveling southbound on Pine Street.

The driver of the pickup truck, 63-year-old Henry Robinson of 328 Frontenac Street was charged with one count of fail to stop for red light under the Highway Traffic Act.

The male driver of the Lincoln was the injured driver in the collision.

Both vehicles were severely damaged.
