************************* Hi Dave and team: I've got a mystery that you or likely your readers might be able to solve. I was downtown Friday night around 6:30 p.m.

And looking west of Galaxy Cinemas and slightly north of the steel plant, I saw something in the sky looking like a funnel cloud.

By the time I snapped the attached pics with my phone, it had started to fade.

Within a minute of snapping these pics, this mystery in the sky was gone. What are we looking at? Cheers Ian McLarty ************************* Good morning David:

I was driving down Queen Street on Friday night after work at approximately 18:38.

I spotted this funnel cloud to the northwest. T

he funnel was well defined, brown in colour and extended from a nearly clear sky to the ground.

I stopped my vehicle at the Queen Street entrance to the casino and shot this video looking to the northwest.

I wanted to take a couple of still photos but didn’t realize until I checked that the camera was on video.

Within five minutes the funnel became less visible and left contact with the ground and dissipated as the funnel retracted towards the sky.

An interesting phenomenon – in talking to the weather staff where I work this formation is known as a "land spout" and is not a very common occurrence.

Please share these two videos with your readers.

Thanks, W A Thompson
