Weekend outlook: We've got a mixed precipitation situation on our hands

It looks like Saturday is going to be our only dry day

Spring continues to struggle to get a foothold this year as cold air continues to push in from the north.

This battle of warm and cold is allowing for the otherwise showery weather to arrive as mixed precipitation.  The good news is that during the daylight hours we are building enough heat that any freezing precipitation in the morning turns to plain rain during the day.

It appears that Saturday will be the only dry day this weekend that we don't have to worry about rain or freezing rain.

Friday morning we will see patchy freezing drizzle and rain that will turn into scattered showers later in the morning as temperatures rise above the freezing mark. The showers should taper off in the afternoon with a chance of brief sunshine before the sun sets in the evening.  Daytime highs should climb to around +5C later after the showers end.

A mix of sun and cloud settles in for Saturday with temperatures climbing to a few degrees above freezing.  Clouds move in for the evening, and then a chance of freezing drizzle arrives overnight into Sunday.

Sunday is likely to see freezing rain in the morning before turning to showers later in the day as temperatures rise. The heaviest rain could fall during the evening.

Warmer air builds in next week to bring above seasonal temperatures with Monday being the only day with a risk of showers so far.
