Weekend Outlook: Normal never sounded so good

Finally, temperatures will climb above 10°C for the first time since December 5

In the first nineteen days of April, it has snowed thirteen days for a whopping 72cm of accumulation.  This record-breaking month also leaves behind snow depths never seen before at this time of year.  Keep in mind that the 30-year average suggests that by this weekend we should see daytime highs above 10°C, no snow on the ground and about 35mm of rain this month.  We haven't recorded a drop of rain in April so far, and our warmest temperature was 5°C on April 10.

The good news is we will try to get back to 'normal' this weekend.  Finally, temperatures will climb above 10°C for the first time since December 5.  Sunshine will prevail, and most of our snow will melt by the middle of next week.  A lot of our snow will melt and stress our drainage systems, while a lot of it will also evaporate into the air.

Friday will be mainly sunny with daytime highs near 10°C. Locations along the shore of Superior will feel much cooler with an onshore westerly wind.  This westerly breeze will continue into Saturday as mainly sunny skies help temperatures climb to near 12°C.

Sunday will see daytime highs climb into the low teens as winds become a little more southerly. The warm sunny weather continues into early next week until our first chance of April showers arrives on Wednesday.
