This weekend sets the stage for some heat early next week

A glance at the long-range forecast suggests we could see another shot of cold air later next week - but even the direst scenario keeps the Sault region outside the risk of frost. After a cool, windy start to Spring, it appears we are turning the corner towards summer, and this weekend sets the stage for some heat early next week.

Skies begin to clear on Friday, but a northwest wind will keep daytime highs near 16°C. Inland locations closer to Ranger Lake might see an isolated shower later this afternoon.

Warmer weather arrives Saturday, with temperatures climbing above 20°C. Patchy morning fog will give way to sunshine to start the day, but clouds move in during the late afternoon and evening.

Sunday will be mostly cloudy with a slight chance of a shower as daytime highs reach 21°C. Gusty east winds arrive on Sunday, but they mark the leading edge of a warm front that will come Monday and Tuesday with temperatures heading towards 30°C.
