Webinar planned to discuss steel plant's environmental footprint

The webinar, hosted by the Sault Climate Hub, will feature Algoma Steel's manager of environment control

The Sault Climate Hub is preparing to host a webinar that will discuss the environmental footprint of the steel plant next week.

The webinar is part of the Hub's monthly presentation series and will be held on Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m.

Fred Post, who is the steel plant's manager of environment control, will be a part of the webinar, which will discuss some of Algoma's initiatives. Among them will be a discussion on Algoma's electric arc steelmaking transition.

Post's background includes 16 years of practical and applied environmental experience in the steel industry related to regulatory compliance, policy development, environmental site reclamation and project management.

He has a BSc in environmental science from the University of Guelph and an MSc in environmental management for business from the University of Hertfordshire.
