Flurries and local snow squalls developing to the Lee of Lake Superior later today.

This is a warning that snowsqualls are imminent or occurring in these regions.

Monitor weather conditions, listen for updated statements.

A cold westerly flow has developed off Lake Superior generating flurries and local snow squalls to the Lee of the lake.

Snowsqualls will affect Highway 17 from south of Wawa through to Lake Superior park later this afternoon the spread northward into Wawa later this evening.

They will persist overnight and most of the day Sunday.

Local accumulations of 15 centimetres are likely tonight with further snowfall amounts on Sunday.

Brisk westerly winds gusting at times to 50 kilometres/hour will produce local blowing snow as well.

Caution is advised as travel will be hazardous along Highway 17 due to poor visibilities in falling and blowing snow.
