Weapons charges laid in Bruce Mines

************************* Weapons charges laid

BRUCE MINES, ON - On Monday May 19 at approximately 9:30 p.m. the East Algoma Thessalon OPP were dispatched to an occurrence where it is alleged that a firearm was pointed at a person.

Michael Louis Leger (48) of Plummer Additional Township, Ontario has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

- Utter threat to cause death or bodily harm, Section 264.1(1) (a) (X3)

- Point firearm, Section 87 (X2).

- Unauthorized possession of firearm, Section 91(1) (X2) and careless use of firearm, Section 86(1).

Leger attended Sault Ste. Marie Bail Court on Tuesday May 20.

He remains in jail and has been scheduled for first appearance court on June 12 in Thessalon.

**************************** Theft of four-wheeler ATV

SPANISH, ON - On Wednesday May 21, 2008 the East Algoma Blind River OPP were contacted regarding a theft of an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) from a residence located on Public Road, Spanish, Ontario.

The theft occurred between Monday May 19 – Wednesday May 21.

The ATV is described as a Red 2005 Artic Cat with a red and black rear seat, red windshield, chrome rims and a winch.

ELLIOT LAKE, ON - On Wednesday May 21, 2008 a chainsaw was turned into the Elliot Lake OPP Detachment.
