************************* Driver arrested for drinking and driving

GARDEN RIVER, ON – On July 19, 2011 at 10:51 p.m. an OPP officer travelling westbound on the divided 4-lane section of Highway 17 East, observed an eastbound vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed in excess of 160 km/hr in a 90 km/hr zone.

The officer lost site of the speeding vehicle and was attempting to catch up to it when he came upon a single vehicle accident on Highway 17 East in Garden River.

As a result of the accident investigation 28 year old Wayne Wendle McInnis of Sudbury Ontario was charged with Driving a Motor Vehicle with a BAC (Blood Alcohol Concentration) exceeding 80 milligrams, and driving while his licence was under suspension.

The driver and female passenger received minor injuries in the accident.
