************************* Male arrested for impaired driving
Yesterday at approximately 3 p.m., City Police attended at the intersection of Wellington Street West and Lyons Avenue regarding a motor vehicle collision.
Investigating officers determined that the accused was travelling west on Wellington Street West when his vehicle struck a vehicle stopped at the traffic lights at Lyons Avenue.
It is alleged that the accused William Swanson, age 41, of 4 Nish Avenue, Wawa, was impaired by alcohol at the time of the collision.
No one was injured but both vehicles did sustain major damage.
The accused is charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of drive over 80 milligrams.
He will be appearing in court on September 29 at 9 a.m.
