MACDONALD, MERIDETH, ABERDEEN TWP – OPP investigated a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 17 East and Watson’s Road yesterday morning at 7:30 a.m.

A black Ford pickup truck was northbound on Watson’s Road crossing the intersection of Highway 17 when it collided with a grey Ford van travelling eastbound on Highway 17.

Both vehicles were demolished.

The driver of the Ford pickup truck, 58-year-old Jim Ritter of 226 Cemetary Road in Echo Bay, received minor injuries.

The female driver of the grey Ford van was transported to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries and remains in the Sault Area Hospital.
