Vehicle with five kids goes in ditch, impaired charge laid

*********************** On Sunday, June 19 at approximately 12:24 a.m. City Police were called to attend a motor vehicle collision on Melrose Avenue. Upon arrival officers observed a vehicle in the ditch.

Witnesses gave officers a description of the suspect and a short time later officers located the accused.

Charged with impaired driving and drive over 80 milligrams is 30-year-old Melissa Assiginack, of 130 Trelawne Avenue.

At the time of the incident there were five children in the vehicle.

She will be appearing in court at 9 a.m. on July 25.
