After a marine and air search lasting about six hours, the U.S. Coast Guard has located an individual reported missing on the St. Marys River.

The person was reported in the water but was located on land and is safe.

SooToday.com readers reported seeing a Coast Guard helicopter hovering over the river across from the golf course starting around 5 a.m.

A pontoon boat was also used in the search-and-rescue operation.
