A snowmobile being operated by Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario native, Ian Galbraith, 37 years old, was crossing Lakeshore Drive and didn't see a northbound Jeep and pulled out in its path.

The Jeep struck the snowmobile and Galbraith and his daughter, five-year-old Kieleigh Gavin-Galbraith, also of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, were both ejected from the snowmobile after the collision.

Kieleigh Gavin-Galbraith was transported to War Memorial Hospital by Bay Mills Emergency Connection where she succumbed to her injuries.

Both subjects were wearing helmets and alcohol doesn't appear to be a factor in the accident.
