***************************** OPP investigate sudden death

Deemed homicide - Police seek public assistance

TEMISKAMING SHORES - The death of David Clark Pannell has now been categorized as a homicide following the post-mortem examination conducted on October 20 in Sudbury, Ontario. 

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) will not be releasing the cause of death at this time.

Just after noon on Tuesday, October 19, members of the OPP Temiskaming detachment responded to the report of a sudden death at a residence in New Liskeard.

The body of the male victim, David Clark Pannell, age 53, was located in his Armstrong Street residence.

The OPP continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of Pannell. 

Investigators are looking into Pannell’s activities on the days just prior to his death. 

Anyone who may have seen or spoken to Pannell on the weekend of October 16 -17 or on Monday, October 18 is urged to contact the OPP Temiskaming detachment at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 1-800-222-TIPS.  

All leads will be thoroughly investigated and no piece of information is ever too small. 

The Temiskaming OPP crime unit is continuing the investigation under the direction Detective Inspector Shawn Glassford, OPP criminal investigation branch.
