******************** Road closures update - 2:40 p.m. CLOSURES

Highway 655 has recently been closed due to weather conditions. Highway 129 at Highway 17 North to Chapleau continues to be closed due to weather conditions.

Highway 11 between Hearst and New Liskeard continues to be closed due to bad weather conditions.

RE-OPENED

Highway 17 at Wahnapitae has re-opened to regular traffic.

Until weather conditions improve, it is strongly suggested that highway travel be limited.

******************* 7:45 a.m. - road closure - bad weather

North East Region, ON) – Members from the OPP Detachment in Thessalon have closed Highway 129 from the Junction at Highway 17 to the Town of Chapleau due to weather conditions.

******************* 7:38 a.m. - road closure - bad weather! (North East Region, ON) – Members from the OPP Detachment in Blind River have closed Highway 17 from the Junction of Highway 108 to the Town of Iron Bridge due to weather conditions.

Members have reported that the highway is impassable and are turning people around at Highway 108.

******************* 6:55 a.m. - Winter Wonderland! (North East Region, ON) – Members from detachments throughout the Northeast Region responded to a total of 13 collisions last evening, three of which resulted in personal injury.

If at all possible, it is recommended that highway travel be minimized until the weather conditions improve and plows have had an opportunity to clear the roads for safe travel.
